Cloverdale youth participating in the Cloverdale Youth Concession at this year’s Edmonton Folk Music Festival will donate 5 per cent of their profits to the Kids with Cancer Society. Cloverdale Community League will match this donation. The league and the community together congratulate these young residents not only for learning and developing important business skills but also helping other youth in need.

Starting on or around July 1, 2019, the south end of the Muttart Conservatory service road (98 Avenue) will be temporarily closed for construction. During this closure, access to the Muttart Conservatory Greenhouse will be maintained with one lane in either direction. The work will last approximately 12 weeks.

There will be no access to Connors Road from 98 Avenue. The best option to access Connors Road is to use the traffic circle at Bonnie Doon. Alternately, motorists can take the 85 Street exit from the traffic circle at 98 Avenue.

To access Connors Road from 98 Avenue westbound, motorists can cross the Low Level Bridge to Rossdale Road. At Bellamy Hill Road, motorists can turn left onto 97 Avenue which will take them over the James Macdonald Bridge, at which time they can take the Connors Road exit. Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location.

Cloverdale 'Accidental Beach' parking program

The Cloverdale 'Accidental Beach' parking program 2019 is a go. It will require vehicles parked in zones with restrictions to display a valid parking pass. Because this affects all Cloverdale residents and businesses that use street parking please, read on.

The City of Edmonton is implementing a resident-only street parking program in Cloverdale to help reduce the effects of those visiting the neighbourhood to enjoy 'Accidental Beach' on vehicle parking.

The 2019 program is the same as the 2018 program (and is not applicable during Folk Fest -- see below for more).

The program will be in force at all times (aside from Folk Fest -- keep reading below) and use the following zones:

  • 'Resident only' parking on the street next to most homes

  • 98A Avenue (north of The Landing condominiums): On the *north side* of the avenue, parking is restricted to 2 hours from 8AM-4PM, on Mondays to Fridays. Outside of these times parking will be unrestricted. On the *south side* of the avenue, resident-only parking restrictions apply at all times.

Bylaw enforcement of the resident-only zones will begin only when the City installs signage that signals the zones are in effect (commensurate with demand from beach visitors)

Each detached house, duplex, triplex, fourplex or condo *south of 98 Avenue* can receive two (2) passes.

Residents of The Landing will receive one (1) pass per unit.

Businesses will receive passes based on need.

Note: If you require more passes than you are allowed, you will need to show proof of this when applying.

Cloverdale Community League (CCL) volunteers will distribute them from the CCL hall on

Sunday June 23, from 1PM-4PM
Monday June 24, from 5PM-8PM

  • Does this program apply to vehicles parked on private property? No. It applies only to street parking. It does not apply to your parkade, garage or driveway.

  • Does a vehicle require a pass to enter the neighbourhood? No.

  • What happens during Folk Fest? During the festival, the Folk Festival parking program comes into effect. Folk Festival parking passes will be distributed separately and as normal this year.

  • What if I have other questions? You may contact Cloverdale Parking/Folk Festival committee at 780-851-7376 or at parking@cloverdalecommunity.com

You now live in the best neighbourhood in the great City of Edmonton. It’s called “The Village in the Park” because that’s exactly what it is, one of the smallest, friendliest communities in the city, set in the very heart of the downtown North Saskatchewan River valley parklands. We’re bordered by the River to the north, Dowler’s Hill to the east, Gallagher Park and the Edmonton Ski Club to the south, and the glorious Muttart Conservatory and Gardens to the west.

Members enjoy year-round social and recreational activities at the playground and spray park, the rink and toboggan hill, and the beautiful Cloverdale Hall, where residents regularly gather for stimulating programs and lively parties.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved.
